How do I ensure my vitamin B12 intake is sufficient?

Vitamin B12 is essential for maintaining our level of red blood cells and keeping our nervous system healthy.  It's made by bacteria and found in foods only through the interations of these bacteria with animals and plants.

B12 enters our bodies via eating meat, poultry, fish, seafood, dairy products, eggs, and for solely plant eaters, in fortified foods such as breakfast cereals, most plant-based milks, marmite, nutritional yeast, and nori seaweed.

Many people experiencing a vitamin B12 deficiency are deficient typically due to non-dietary factors affecting absorption, such as autoimmune diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, or surgeries, certain infections, certain drugs and other causes.

Anyone with a potential medical or dietary cause of vitamin B12 deficiency may want to consider get their B12 levels checked by having a simple blood test, and take supplementation if required.
